Butter Pecan Turtle Cookies

Crust:
2 cup flour
1 cup light brown sugar,packed
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup pecan halves

Preheat oven to 350*.  In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and butter.  Mix at
medium speed for 3 minutes, scraping sides often.  Pat firmly into a 9x13x2 pan.  Sprinkle
pecans evenly over unbaked crust.

Caramel Layer:
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

In a heavy, 1-quart saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar.  Cook over medium heat, stirring
constantly until entire surface begins to boil.  Continue boiling for one minute, stirring
constantly.  Pour evenly over crust.  Bake for 18-22 minutes.  Remove from oven and immediately
sprinkle with chocolate chips.  Let chips melt slightly 2-3 minutes.  Lightly swirl chips as
they melt.  Do not spread.  Cool completely then cut into bars.
