Coffee Cake

1 1/8 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 eggs, well beaten
2 pkgs yeast
6-6 1/2 cup sifted flour
Tart apples

Topping:

1 cup sugar
4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup butter

Boil water and butter, about 10 minutes.  Cool.  Soften yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
Add to cool butter mixture.  Add sugar, salt and well beaten eggs.  Add flour, beat
well with wooden spoon.  Knead well about 5 minutes.  Place in greased bowl,
let rise until doubled, punch down.  Make in small balls, place a piece of apple
in each center.  Roll in butter then cinnamon, sugar and nuts, add raisin.  Place in
well greased tube pan in two or more staggering layers.  Cover and let rise until
light about 50 minutes.  Bake at 350* 45-60 minutes.  Loosen in pan with spatula and invert
so sugar runs down over it.
