Scotch Sheath Cake

2 cup flour
2 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening
4 tbsp cocoa powder
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract

1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
4 tbsp cocoa
6 tbsp cream or milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 or 2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

For cake:  Put flour and sugar in a large bowl.  In a saucepan, heat butter, shortening,
cocoa and water to a boil and then pour over flour and sugar mixture and combine well.
Add buttermilk, baking soda, eggs and vanilla and mix well.  Pour into greased and
floured rectangular pan.  Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted
in center comes out clean.

For icing:  Bring to a boil butter, cocoa, cream and add powdered sugar, vanilla and
nuts(optional) to taste.  Ice when cake is warm to cool.
